Description: SEM micrograph of an underaged aluminium alloy 7475 subjected to fatigue loading in a saltwater environment. The fatigue striations, which correspond to the crack advance for each loading cycle, are clearly visible on the left of the image. The right-hand side of the surface corresponds to the fast fracture of the material when it could no longer support the applied load.
