Description: The simulation shows a generic movable bridge in operation. The most important charasteristic is the length of the bridge. The requirement for a low power demand, fast opening and no deep basement led to the choice of an hydraulically driven, movable bridge. The task in the simualton is: the 30,000 kg bridge should be opened in T seconds by making a 90° turn. To that end, an actuator was designed to exert a horizontal force on the lever a2, which has an initial inclination of 45° (π/4 radians).
