Description: The low elastic modulus of aluminium means that the deflection at the serviceability limit state is often decisive in design of aluminium beams and girders. The interactive example explores the effects of girder dimensions, properties and loading parameters on the beam deflection. An user can choose different limiting deflections (expressed as a fraction of span, L). A warning sign will appear, when the total deflection exceeds the limiting deflection.
