Description: Tube hydroforming is a forming process, which takes advantage of an active medium. Hollow semi-finished products, such as, circular tubes or extrusions, are further formed in this process to produce the finished parts. Parts with complex surface geometry are formed by means of pressurized liquid and in some cases by the simultaneous introduction of axial forces. Although water-based emulsions are most commonly used, oils and elastomers are also suitable as pressure mediums. This interactive animation schematically shows tube hydroforming process with the introduction of axial forces.
