Description: This is a schematic image of the rolling processes used to produce railway track. When the desired product has a contoured surface, the contour can be rolled by using profiled rollers. If the surface pattern needs to be deeper than is possible during one rolling pass then multiple rollers can be used; here railway tracks are made by rolling between pairs of progressively deeper contoured rollers.
