Description: This image shows tiny branches, or "dendrites", of pure uranium, which form when engineers reprocess spent fuel from nuclear fast reactors. Argonne's scientists have decades of expertise in creating fast reactors, which allow the recycling of many of the toxic isotopes that compose nuclear waste.
